does anyone know how I can make text form from mist?...

as in the mist comes together to create words.

doing it in aftereffects or combustion would be easier using blur effects, if you have particle flow you can use a dynamic material of text on a facing particle and animate it's blur offset paramater in the bitmap rollout,
this way you start with something hazy and it settels down.

i did something similar, i use a PCloud atteched to the text and i migrate de particles from inside the text to the outside, and later in Premier put the video backwards.

B.T.W. By reversing the ani in AE, you can get the effect of tha particles forming text..
