View Full Version : Goddess of Drowned souls
The Blue Forest 05-24-2003, 12:27 AM My depiction of the Norse Mythological goddess "Ran".
(Ran
In Norse mythology Ran is the wife of Aegir. It is she who uses a net to draw the sailors of sinking ships to their doom.)

NIce water and sky rendering, that must have taken ages!
Only thing that bugs me is her left forearm/hand, it looks a right hand, inconexed with the body.
Wich tools did you use?

Hey!
Thanks for the replys -
I did this one actually last year, using number 2 pencil, my favorite medium of course.
I agree about the girl, her anatomy isn't near perfect.
I should just work on her, but its kinda hard to "go back" to the peice. I have 3 others in this series of drawings I did, that I will post soon.
Thanks again for the crits:thumbsup:
I completed this in around 40 hours
I wanted to take on the "water" challenge.

The water is spectacularily rendered. You have real skill with a pencil, it has the feeling of a classical painting, though the girl seems very disconnected.
Otherwise, a great piece
