Hi there,

I don't do a lot of 3D work, being a compositor, but I do like to get into it now and then. i've been planning the new demo reel for ages, and I'm in need of assistance.

I have been trying to find a very comprehensive tutorial or anything resembling decent advice on modeling and tyexturing photoreal buildings.

I have had no luck researching this subject, so now I ask the lot of you.

any advice, well appreciated, thanks.

thanks for the tip.

i shall however, repeat my request and try to be more clear this time:

what i am looking for are either excellent tutorials for modeling photoreal buildings, or advice from anyone out there for doing the same.

texturing is an important part of this procedure and i expect and hope to have some of this as well, however i am not interested in just throwing maps on a polygon- i want to specifically how to model the photoreal buildings and texture them appropriately.

i am NOT talking about game art quality.

thanks.

www.3dtotal.com, go to their tutorial page than its the 7th and 8th tutorial down. It should shead some light on the subject. The trick to making a builing look good in cg is the minor detail. the cracks, the weathering, the fungal growth, etc. etc. . The tutorials show how work these inperfections into your own arctitecture. hope this helps a little.
