Title: Above the clouds
Name: Michael Mlynek
Country: Germany
Software: 3ds max, CINEMA 4D, Vue

This is a render similiar i had seen in a audi brochure. I tried here to practice the composition between vray and vue infinite (i have not the xtreme version). Since i have hardly done anything with vue i thoght i give it a try. This image contains also some postwork. Please give me some critics of what i could do better.

I'm not sure if the mountains are supposed to look like cartoons, but if not, that's what you have to correct.

I agree with x3ego on this one, especially the foreground rock lacks detail. It could be as simple a fix as turning on displacement, with the bump-map, in Vue there. I think adding more detail to that rock would increase believability tremendously!

definatelly not a dosch model......there are people who can model aswell....check my portfolio you will find that a6 in there aswell.

I will give it a try with displacement, thanks a lot. What is it that you bother on the mountains in the back?

I think the part on the mountains that could use some adjustments is mostly on the white areas. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be snow or a reflection of the sky, but it has a very flat color tone to it. It gives the impression that it's using a toon/cell shader. Try giving more variation in the texture so you can see the highlights break apart into bumps and crevices. Tweak that out, add a bit more displacement to the foreground mountain, and maybe adjust the blue gamme values on the foreground elements so it blends better with the background. Good work though

With how white (and well-rendered, I might add) the clouds are, the snow kinda loses it's contrast clarity. If the clouds are that bright, at least highlights from the snow should be? If anything, parts of the snow should be brighter than the clouds, since they reflect/refract more light? Just an idea!
