Hey guys, coming at you today with something new I've been working on. I kind of didn't want to post this in the 2D WIP section, I wanted to wait till I finished it and BAM! throw it in the finished section, but I showed it to a buddy of mine and he had some crits for me, I thought I'd come on here and see what the cgcommunity thought of it before I decide to finish it.

So, here's the pic, hopefully you guys can tell who these three dudes are, I found a really awesome picture on google and decided to try to draw it, I think it has turned out pretty good so far, but as the artist it's tough to spot some mistakes. So yeah, let me know what you think, this is about 65% complete, I plan on drawing some of the suits and parts of the bodies, so it doesn't look like a few heads floating in the middle of the room. It'll be easier for us to help find the flaw in similarity if you post the model for this work :)
so far it's a good work. didn't recognize them, though ^^

I do think they look like the actors, but joe pesci's eyes seem weird to me...

De Niro and Pesci look great. Theres a few things that could be tweaked, but they are instantly recognizable, which is the main thing. Liotta needs more work though. If the other two werent in the picture, I wouldnt recognize him. De Niro's face may be a little on the thin side, I dont know. Something strange there. Once you add hair, and suits though, they'll sell easy. Liotta though... Give him another pass, and this is lookin pretty great.

I took a quick look at your reference. It looked like that might be a painting, or just a pretty low quality pic. Try getting some other shots from the movie, or around that time period. That may help out some. I think thats just a bad shot to use. He looks like a mime or something.

Anatomy feels a bit off as well in certain points.. one particular point is robert denero (sp)'s eyes. As someone else said, maybe use stills from the movie as secondary references instead of just the single poster.

maybe go back over the original picture and break down the anatomy with guidelines drawn over top.

nice choice of picture though, looks like a fun project.
