I've modeled textured and rendered this compass.

Modelling and texturing took me 1 1/2 hour
Rendering 36 minutes

Very realistic,but I dont like the brown texture on the compass :( just my opinion.. 4/5

Very realistic,but I dont like the brown texture on the compass :( just my opinion.. 4/5Thanks, I aint gonna change it because the render time is too long. :P But on my next render I'm gonna use bump maps and uv maps to make it look better.

The compass itself is fantastic. Looks great. As for the casing, it leaves something to be desired, to say the least. Even a simple would texture would be a huge improvement.
Also the hinge is a little unclear. Looks too weak to hold up the lid.

I agree with the above and would love to see the compass with texture, but other than that I think you've done a really good job.
