Ok, so I made an object but desire to get rid of part of one of the polyplanar projection maps and wanted to delete one component of the history but not all of it. Is there a way of doing this?

yeah, just open the hypergraph and show the history list as a graph... select the history node you want to remove and hit delete... (or simply type: delete "historyNodeName").

be careful though, some types of history will have noticeably weird results on the rest of your history stack if you remove them (you should be fine with something like polyProjections though).
