View Full Version : Modelling: Poly Normal issues

A few coworkers of mine have shown me max files that have objects with VERY funny normals. Every poly that is created counter-clockwise will have its normal inverted. I have tried unifying the normals, and checking for unwelded vertices, but the glitch continues. I have certainly missed something, i was wondering if anyone has run into this kind of thing before as i was unable to help them. One person has said that it happens to them often!!?

Sometimes applying the Reset Xform will invert all normals on a mesh. Maybe that might help to bring the polygon creation back to normal.
(Reset Xform is very often a solution for weird problems :) ).
