Hi guys,

I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place for this question, but here goes.I have a character I animated in Maya, and what I'd like to do is save out a cache file (.MC) and then convert it to a point cache file so that I can load it on the same mesh in Max. Does anyone know if this is possible?

I wanted to do this for rendering purposes since I am much more familiar with lighting and rendering and materials in Max.

Thanks in advance!

What version of 3d max are you using? If you have the fbx plugins installed you should be able to import the maya pointcache files just fine (make sure to export a double digits from maya). There are a few discussions on this topic at the autodesk forums if I remember correctly.

You can also look into a pc2 exporter for maya: http://www.kai-wolter.com/resources/maya/maya_pc_tools

Hope this gets you started. I don't have access to my production machine this week so I can't do any tests for myself.
