There are about 10 movies out there done by xiaoxiao. Every one was surprised by its 3D matrix style and the kungfu fighting animation. The movie extension is in .SWF which is flash movie, but however, i dont think he uses flash program to make. Everyone out there, dont know what program he using, some said Swift3D, some said 3dSmax, some siad flash 5.

Do anyone know what program does he use to make the kungfu and matrix style movie? If you know, can you teach me how to make?

Howdy !

I'm myself a big fan of XiaoXiao's works, and actually Flash is usually my everyday weapon. Imho, there is obviously some 3d app involved in the making, since using flash alone, any version, won't let do any of this, unless you are very skilled and hand drawing, and have lots of time on your hands.

Basically i'd say it was simply done in any kind of 3d software that can render out to swf, it could be Max, it could be Maya (well, Maya has not been capable of this for such a long time, has it ? - probably its Max that was used).

These renderers output swf files, in fact frame by frame translation of the animation, vectorized, and that's it, import that into a new flash file, clean it up a little... there you go.

The 'matrix' style you're referering to is just ... well, just a style, and so is kung fu, i mean, there is no secret to it, other than XiaoXiao being the heck of a good animator !!!

So any idea to make a simple Xiaoxiao movie?

 well, imho what makes these little thingies so fun is that they're extremely well done, and lot of fun to play or watch, even if you look at 'older' ones, that do not feature any 3d kind of stuff, well it's just amazing animation work on very simple ideas..

i mean... what else could be said ?
My guess is also that most of the work is done in Flash, managing your clips / actions to trigger stuff. 3D here is used like a bonus feature - eye candy, if there was no 3d fx, it would still be fun.
