Hi, dom. Your model is comig along nicely. People here will point out the deficits as they always do and I particulary think the chin is too petite, but one thing I found out after my first head is that you have to model some character into it. As it is now, your head is completely generic in every detail, is like a cg fetus. What I tend to do now is choose the characteristics I like in a woman's head, like long strong jaw (Sigourney weaver), straight tall forehead and big eyes (Milla jovovich), or if I were to model and old guy I'd emphasize the eyebrow maybe and loosen the cheek muscles.
I think you know what I mean, If you were to find someone in the street with the face you have modeled you probably wouldn't look again. Don't take me wrong, you are more than half way to get a very strong model, keep up the good work.
But then again, I may be wrong.

Ok gonna take a breath first, ok here we go, her cheeks are a little too fat for the size of mouth you got. if you want to keep the cheeks make her chin and mouth bigger. The back of her jaw where he neck meets is fatty you might want to smooth that out a bit. Where her eye meets in the corner is a little off you might want to smooth that out a bit. It seems to wrinkler right there. but othewise good model. Maxmare is right with the personality i didn't realize that either till i started to model my elf. as you can see with mine dom, all the changes i have gone through on it. I didn't realize how much work it was till i dove head first into it. :annoyed:

maxmare- im still trying to get that look on her. as for the chin, yeah it does seem a bit small..i'll try enlarging. :D Tks for the crit and advise.
lordrych- cheeks noted. will scale em down. the back of the jaw will be softened too. I hate it when it comes to modelling areas around the eyes..especially when u want definition of the skull to be in place..i'll try to unwrinkle that too. your elf model is looking good, dont fret k? :thumbsup:

You should show us the front and side views, this way its easier to tell if everything is in proportion. But looking good so far, you need to adjust the corner of the lower lip so that it flows into the face better. Look in the mirror, the corner of the lips flows smoothly into the face. The lips are too pouty.

You should put 2 standin spheres for the eyeballs so that you know the eyesocket will fit.

Ok dom notice where he jaw line goes it goes behind her ear it should come just in front of the ear and it still looks a little chubby, and her lips look pouty.

hand- the balls are in cept i left them out during the render. i'll correct the lower lips thing. As for the pouty lips, its too much of a personal preference! ahahahaa!

hey dom, well just to let you know the body is a little flat, plus she looks like she is sucking in. her arms look a little flat too try too round them out.

This is gonna be good!
Need some adjustments though: hips need to be bigger, she looks like she nees to do a 'chest out'. Breasts are flat, maybe r u planning to make some clothes then its okay.

I like it just the way it is thus far. I think people can too easily fall into the "idealized" female models with huge firm breasts, tiny waists and big hips. This model in its present form is more realistic to me. Another thing to think about is whether you plan on adding clothes or not. The breasts are currently in very good position for a nude model, however if you add clothes, then I think the breasts will be a little too low and too far to the sides. With clothes on there would be some expectation for her to be wearing support (a bra).

plasticbg-she is supposed to be clothed at the end of the day so i didnt work much on getting the breast to look real.. as for the hips..they're really giving me a bad time, sometimes it looks good from a certain angle, then at another angle it looks totally out. As for the chest out issue, due to rigging, i've decided to keep her spline as straight as poss, we can always have her arch her back after rigging. :D
CynicalSaint- gawd i love your nick..hahaa. yeah, i ddint want another big boobs female character. as i've mentioned, she will be wearing clothes at the end of the day. Point taken on the bra comment. will look into it, it really depends on the char design. Tks for the comments.

Here's the latest update. Its still open to anatomy changes, at first the hips look ok..now with the legs in they look a bit too thin to me. I would really appreciate any comments or crits on her anatomy... ;)

oh i was wanting to see more progress.. now that you paused it :)
Heres the comments:
the knees look too low till the lower leg (donno what u call it) looks smallish. Still i think the hips are too small or maybe the upper body is too large to be supported by her lower.
Nice work on the hands.. i am having problems making mine too ..

I just wanted to say that im pretty grateful for all these comments and advise. Will need them once cgchallenge is over to further improve this model. I just found this anatomy book by louis gordon it made my model look like shit. LOL.
Btw, anyone here a shaghair pro? If say i wanted to have hair looked as if they were in clumps, with a slightly gelled look. how do i do that? i've tried having multiple emitters all over the scalp but does that mean i have to have as much shag hair effects in my environment fx stack? I've tried multiple IDs too, but when i start doing attraction, they fail to do it on a local ID basis. and setting vectors doesnt help much too. :shrug:

i think her neck has somethin wrong...it doesnt seem very natural...(the upper part of the neck, near the throat) i think u´ve pulled the vertices way too much. well i might be just me tought...

Well, I think this chick could be pretty hot! In my opinion, however, I think she should have long hair. Black is good as a color too. I also can't wait until she has some texturing and clothes. Tanktop maybe with some short shorts... :drool:

hey dom love the hair, but here we go. The thighs needs some mad detail and to me she still looks like she is sucking in. I can't figure it out, also her chin is good but her jaw bone looks like it has fat on it you might want to giver he a quick face lift............;)

dom, ve u tried painting grayscale bitmaps to control the clumping? i read abt sometime before but cant find the link again. but the idea is to make ur material a multi-subobject ... say mat ID 1 is the hair material ... then make ID 2 to hold your grayscale bitmap. then apply the UVW mapping to the head, in this case probably top planar, set the channel to 2 also.
in the shag hair window, under clumping/density (i forget if it should apply on density or clumping, or either one ) section check the submat ID dialogue box, set to 2. the hair should grow according to the bitmap.
sorry i never try it personally before but i know abt the method so may not work to your need : )

It looks to me like the spine of your model would be too straight, that might be the 'sucking in' problem. Try giving it more curvature, and raise the rib cage a little. Her thumbs look like they need a bit of work as well, they don't seem to realistic to me. For the head, just work on the jaw line, the rest looks great, good character :) . One last thing, try to define the shin bones in her legs, more curved. Curves are what makes a woman sexy :D

Hi Dom,looks like your getting there.............However still a way to go............(I know how hard this is as I'm in the process of modelling my own Female character)
The Thumb needs a lot of looking at.......
The chin to neck area is wrong and needs some tweaking
the Thighs are to long(did exactly this on my model) and need a little tweaking also...maybe the hips should come up a bit....
Where the breasts meet the Rib cage they should be more pulled down (by Gravity...unless there fake?)
the face is far to flat at the front and needs to be rounded off
Apart from that ......

Looking good, the area at the small of the back looks like it could use a little attention, and just as an asthetic observation, I think that she may have a little too much on the rear end for my taste, but if thats what your goin for great job.
