View Full Version : How to use a black & white image as a laye mask
A-Boy-From-Heaven 06-19-2008, 05:26 PM Hi
I'm just wondering how I can use a black and white image as a mask so that the white areas mask out the below layer.
Thanks in advance!

Hi, just do a command click on a channel to load the values of each pixel. Go to the layer you want to have masked, add a mask and the selection will automatically load into the mask. YOu may end up wanting to invert the mask (click on mask> command i ) .
I'll do this sometimes, using the mask as a positive for one color and a negative for another color. Then adjusting levels on the masks to make them either separate or overlap a bit.
Hope that helps.
