PaintFx to polys again (Im in love with this tool Im afraid). Again rendered in Maya 5 with a PURE raytrace card. Image took 2mins 30 secs to render at 1K. Let us know what you think.

it looks nice as a render but the screws look a bit odd to me.

You may have used a reference so i could be wrong here but normally screws don't taper until near the end, these screws seem more like spikes with a screw thread. Also it might just be me but there doesn't seem to be anywhere for the screwdriver to go? they are just rounded at the top? maybe it's the angle i'm looking at them at.

Or maybe you don't care about the screws and are just reying to make it photo real :) in that case it looks really good. But because the screws look odd to me it takes away from the photoreal aspect.

Hope that helps and i hope you don't take any of that personally i'm just saying what i see :)

yes the screws look odd, but I did not model them. They are a default Maya5 paintFx brush. :)

ahhh well it goes to show you what i know about Maya :)

sorry about that

maybe you should model a nice screwdriver then to go along with them to add to the scene
