Posting this for those who aren't on the XSI List. Jennifer Goldfinch let us in on some info about what Softimage is planning for Siggraph this year. Check it out:

A few people have contacted about what we are doing at SIGGRAPH this year so they can book flights, so here are a few dates to keep in mind. All details will be live on Softimage.com in July.
Sunday, August 10th 11am-10pm 2nd Annual Softimage Production Challenge @ LA Sheraton
Monday, August 11th all day Various activities, including the Education Summit, Reseller Meeting, etc, (might not affect the majority of you, but good to know) @ LA Sheraton
Tuesday, August 12th 8pm-1am - SIGGRAPH User Event @ Downtown venue
Tuesday, August 12-14th Booth presentations by Softimage & Softimage customers
Now for the User Event.. its a little different than previous years.. it starts a little bit later to give people time to eat and change, and it will end quite a bit later with a more party-like atmosphere. We will be taking registration in advance, and if you go to the booth on Tuesday during the show, youll be able to pick up your wrist band, which will accelerate entry to the event. If you register in advance and DONT get your wrist band, you will get in, but you might have to wait a bit longer.
We will not run out of tickets to the event this year, like we did last year at the HoB party.
But as I like to remind people, getting to the venue earlier is usually better than later, because of 500 people arrive at once, it does slow things down a little bit!
