You might want to have his arm raised up a great deal more to almost 50% of his range of motion. If not it might make it very difficult for you to rig and bind this character then have him deform properly.
Other than that, the model is looking really good so far. Especially good considering it's your first model.
Can't wait to see some more.

I think you have a nice start j_mac. I really like how you continue to compare your work to the painting through image editing software. I use that technique to learn too.

Peter Watje has a hair plugin for free.Go to http://www.max3dstuff.com/ . Click on "Plugins". I think you must have either Max 3 or 4. Usage of the hair program on a model can be seen at Michael Koch's site-->
www.uni-mainz.de/~kochm002

I'm working on a hair plug-in for AIR renderman renderer and I'm looking at two ~plug-ins to get an idea of how to implement things. Peter Watje's plug-in is one of them.

On you arm model I it looks like you may have misread where the deltoid inserts. In the painting that you are working off of it appears that the deltoid inserts further to the left (from the viewers perspective). In reality, that is just a shadow being cast by the deltoid and the insertion point further to the right and closer to the middle of the arm. If this critique doesn't make sense, let me know and (with your permission) I'll draw overtop of wolverine to show you what I mean.

Keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to the finished Wolverine.

Sorry about the delay j_mac.

I think you understand what I'm saying, but I'll go ahead and post up a pic.

The one in the center (2) is the recommended adjustment and the one to the left (1) is your original model. The one to the far right (3) w/ the green shows the shadow area cast of the delt. (1) and (3) look very similar. That is why I figured you thought the shadow area was part of the deltoid.
