(http://assets.cgsociety.org/nvart/264608_1213765305/1024bound)Attempting to skry one's own destiny seems pointless when the outcome is inevitable.

Created with Maya and Photoshop, these are the geo remnants of my previous work that I felt needed more consideration. Comments and critiques most welcome.

hi lynda again, I have liked your first entry more, as this piece seems to be lacking much of a mood & deepness for me. Or mayb you will ned to generate another style of design and different elements for this work. Mayb you can research abit more on that? Good luck!

Hi Hongji,

Thank you vor visiting and for your very astute observation! You are absolutely correct. I was not focused on deep messages and hidden meaning for this piece since I did do that for Imminent Reflections. I had no wish to go along that same path for this work. My intent was to create a really surgically clean, focused, graphic composition -- the opposite of my "style" which tends to be very painterly and Impressionistic. This is only the 2nd time I have worked with Global Illumination and my motivation was to explore the possibilities of Mental Ray --which is why the primary element is definitely the crystal sphere.

Knowing this, I hope that you will look again and let me know if I was succesful in my objectives!

Thank you very much for being so honest and direct. This is exactly the type of feedback that really helps me to become a better artist!

Kindest regards,

Lynda

Hi Linda!

your piece very much reflects your statement.

:banghead:

The universe had flopped a doozy on me (this part seems similar to what you were saying) that basically, in no vague terms, that the biggest hurdle to creating any open ended belief systems is the egoic apparatus. It is funny that for me , the inevitability of my destiny may have the plan to have me choose it myself... Irony, you gotta love it... Still workin' on that one...

Can't say much more but to quote Bob Marley:
"Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery, only we can free our minds." says it all...

Have you ever heard of Ekhart Tolle or Dr David Hawkins? have a look/read and let me know what you think.

'nuff said

like the cool minimalism in your work... a little dark in this case, but true to the concept and that's what counts.

Hello Seth,

Thank you for your amazing insights! I have been looking into both Eckhart Tolle and Dr. David Hawkins since I saw your post. While I find Dr. Hawkings a bit difficult to follow, the thoughts of Tolle do resonate strongly for me as I continue my own investigation of this world's religions. I plan to study his works much further--thanks for the suggestion!

Thank you for your interest and your keen observation regarding my piece.

Kindest regards,

Lynda

U R welcome!

Dr D Hawkins is a little strange but his 2 books power vs force and highest enlightenment are pretty cool... he gets down to earth as you read - may be a good follow up after Tolle...

here's a site that I think is a good start for DR.D.H. but there are others...
