Hi everyone,
this is my first showreel I put together after I finished my third term project at uni.
The production time was around 9 weeks next to all the other uni work, Software used was:
Shake for pre-compositing
After Effects for final compositing
Houdini for the tornado particle system
Maya for the 3D part of the matte paintings
Photoshop for the matte painting itself
Vegas for the editing

The reel with a breakdown can be found on my website www.chrike.de (http://www.chrike.de)
Thereīs also higher res/quality version available for download there.
Edit: there seems to be a problem with IE7; will be fixed asap! Till then:
Hereīs the video on vimeo:

Iīd like to say a special thanks to the guys in the Digital Matte Painting forum here, who helped me a lot initially getting my head around the process :)
In fact I investigated the whole 3D Matte Painting pipeline as part of the personal research unit @ uni and I made a website poster out of all the infos I got.
It describes the technical process involved in setting everything up in MAYA up to the point where you can export it to Houdini.
Please feel free to read through it if interested! Itīs located here: http://nccasymposium.bmth.ac.uk/kesler_christian/index.html
with loads of screenshots. Itīs basically set up like a tutorial :)
Comments and Crits welcome!
Regards,
Chris
