It's been some time since our last release.
Here is our new Technical Director Training demo (http://3dquakers1.com/webroot5/download.php?det=30).
It covers scripting and plugin development to create tools for Rigging and Animation.

Although this series is made for Softimage XSI, the math and physics can be easily applied to 3DS MAX and MAYA.

That's a very nice sample, Charbel! When are you planning to release it?

Thanks Iker,

Hopefully it should be out within a month.

This looks amazing, really looking forward to it. Is the plugin described history dependent?

What exactly do you mean by history dependant Mihai?

By history dependent I mean does it need to look at all the previous keyframes to determine how to react. I believe the 3ds max spring system works this way, thus slowing down proportional to the length of animation.

No that's not the way Dynamo is built. It does not look at previous frames at all. It performs some calculations depending on its own physical state at the curent frame.

Awesome, really curious how it works now :D Thanks for clarifying.

And just for the record, our Dynamo plugin behaves in a totally different manner than MAX's spring controller.
Max's controller does not have angular springing built in. Faking that with workarounds makes it sluggish and inaccurate.

Dynamo has angular springing built in its core. I wouldn't be surprised if new spring systems for MAX and Maya emerged right after the Technical Director training series is released!
