CGTalk - PaintFX: Smooth Twigs Growth?

View Full Version : PaintFX: Smooth Twigs Growth?

I'm trying to animate the growth of a palm tree from the presets coming with Maya. I wanted to control the way it grows by animating individually each attribute. It animates well except it doesn't give a smooth animation when animating the TwigLength for example.
Here is a sample of what I'm getting:

My brush has only a Twig enabled ( no branches).

Ahh sorted...you need to increase the tube segments under Tubes > Creation cause it grows per segment.

Thanks, that's sorted it out. I was using around 200 segments then cranked it up to 2000http://forums.cgsociety.org/images/icons/icon10.gif.
