Hi this is an animation that I have been working on for a couple of months now. Basically I wanted to use a c++ program I had written for a uni assignment to drive an animation and remove the need for keyframing an animation. It all sorta snowballed from there. :D

So here it is: Both are in Divx5 format

If you are interested in the WIP then it was done over at simplymaya.com and the thread is here (http://forums.simplymaya.com/showthread.php?threadid=5179&perpage=15&pagenumber=1)

I hope you guys enjoy it and if you have any comments or anything it'd be great to hear them

Damn you programmers, trying to get rid of us lowly keyframe animators!

Although I have to admit (grudgingly) it's pretty good... ;)

Yeah, still here. By the way, Martin says that your flocking systems are about as good as your football skills.

Non-existent.

Pretty nice animation. I can appreciate the work that went into applying the C++ code and MEL script! Can you explain how you did it?
It is a unique concept but the animation isn't perfect. The squadrons first turn in flight are not accurate. They turn as a car would make a left hand turn not as plane would turn. A airplane banks. Also, there needs to be more easing in the animation. For example, right before the squadron lets loose the smoke they are coming out of a climb and are falling.... there is not an excelleration of weight. To me all the plains seem to be animated like they are on a roller coaster of sorts. Another thing, watch the landing of the plane. It takes one bounce and boom it's landed. There needs to be more expression of weight.

I'm not trying to be negative or put you down. These are just some things that you might be able to work on. Also, it's just my humble opinion. We can all improve! I hope I was helpful!
Good luck! <><:)
