Hi,

You folks must've noticed that Lightwave's raytraced reflections, have a tendency to be too bright. I've always found it hard to deal with this, and get the results I need. A number of plug-in developers have spoken about this in their product manuals, namely WorleyLabs (in G2's book). So I want to dedicate this thread to the subject, and I hope you can join me. We can share thoughts, tips and workarounds. We can even ask NewTek to address the issue.;)

I look forward to your views.

Many thanks,

Uh, Evasion has a plugin for solving this:

Thanks for the tip, but I already own Hypersmooth. It's a great plug-in with tremendous potential, but it's unfortunately hampered by some issues. Mainly the lack of proper documentation and tutorials, in fact I've yet to see one! Then there's the fact that Evasion limits it's users to one -platform specific- plug-in file per purchase. This means folks who purchase for one platform cannot render in another. I purchased a Mac license, after which I got much faster PCs, but I can't render scenes on them with either HS or X-DOF....unless I buy the PIs again!!! :annoyed: Worley labs takes a more open approach to this, since they allow you to download their plug-ins at will. I've emailed Evasion several times for locked "render only" PC nodes, but they seem to ignore my request...they wouldn't even send a reply!!!

I would still want to see the reflection problem solved in LW8. It would save us bags of time, which we can dedicate to cooler things. Not to mention the creative freedom that comes along.

Thanks again,
