I thought i should share a script that makes your unstable maya sessions a little bit faster.

How did you do it? I once put something like that into NPAutoSave (and wrapped it completely up by the way) (maybe I should tell the autor about that someday... ;] )

http://goodsoul.de/mel/NPautoSave.mel

I mean, a menuItem with all the .ma-files is much cooler than just that File > Auto Save Options ... > RMB on Open Latest File > Open Latest File From Standard Temp Folder
But it works as well :]
what I added:

option to put autosaves under Temp to not pollute your incrementals or overwrite your stuff
always or if the file is read only
Cleaned up the whole code (reordered, renamed stuff..)
now just warns you if the file wasn't saved yet
no more window popping up if you don't want so
new buttons in the options dialog to open the temp folder
and to load the latest file from there
now renames your file (like the original) when loading from temp via the dialog
