Hi all!
Been a while since I uploaded anything here. Anyway, this is my latest piece- just did this one for fun and practice, as always. Started the initial sketch over a year ago, but I hadn't touched it since last week, when I had a bit of spare time.
I'm really trying to move away from the lineart, and into a more painterly style, but I'm having a real hard time with that. As a result, I'm not too satisfied with how this one came out. I feel the overall look is a bit amateurish, and the brushwork lacks style and confidence. Also, I have to keep working on anatomy, but that's another matter. ;)
With that being said, I'd greatly appreciate any critiques, comments, tips and ideas! I've been looking at some tutorials by Matt Dixon, as well as working on some custom brushes, so I have a vague idea what direction to go in next time around.
Anyway, here are some details on the piece....
All done in Photoshop CS2, with Wacom tablet, using only the default round hard-edge brush (and a bit of the "grass" brush, obviously ;)). Used various reference for body parts and general anatomy. Not really sure how long it took... Probably around 10 hours.
Thanks!
