Wonderful! Great composition with lovely colors. We can still feel the strength of the Meccano even when mixed with of softness of the environment. Good use of DOF. Excellent job!

This is insanely good work.

I used to love Mechano when I was a kid. I love everything about this image, the DOF is perfect, and the POV adds a seriousness and scale to what would probably only be about 30 cm tall in real life. Wonderful lighting as well.

druigant: about the DOF, i got refrence from stock photos and tried to achive a good looking result based on those photos, then i tweaked it a little to get the result i wanted.
so it might be a lil bit off "realistically", but i think it serves its purpose :).

I worked in a mecano (as a personal project) the last year.
You did everything in 3D max? I found that it was a bit difficult to assembly a model, so i modeled the parts in Inventor (real dimensions too) and later i developed full models an exported to 3d Max....

Greeeeeeeeeeeeeat work and DOF...... only one crit.... the color of the parts... is not a bit soft?
It looks more like a old mecano....... my mecano was full of bright colors!

great image, I hated meccano, screws would come loose if you played with your selfbuild cars and paint would chip of if you bended the metalplates as the instructions said, guess I was more a Lego guy ;) (might be an age thing i guess mecanno was big before lego was invented)
