View Full Version : start Emitting
Hi,
I new in dynamics world, I did many tutorials with Alex Alvarez.
I'm trying to make an explosion.... I did it but i want to start the explosion when let's say sphere hit the ground.
sphere will be a fire ball so when it hits the ground will explode.
i'm think about worldPosition when it is 0 the explosion particles will start emitting but i don't know how to do it.
any ideas

in the particle shape node
in time attributes
there is a place called, "time start"
just put in whatever number you want in there, and at that frame is when the particle will start emitting.
thanks a lot.
but when i put in my scene, everything missed.
i'm using instance so shall i do it again, because i scale it and move it in the right position.

you can set stepped keys on the emitter rate attribute timed to when your fireball hits the ground. This works great unless your fireball animation changes, then you need to write a script.

If your fireball is an instance you could create a collision event.
thanks a lot, it working now but i have got this message in the command line while i'm trying to render

Not all cycle errors are bad, but look up cycleCheck in the docs, or type the error in a google search for an explanation of whats actually going on. The other error is pretty self explanatory.
Have you made progress? post a render when your done.
unfortunalty, No
I tried a lot to render and it is working in the pres, but if I try to render from different camera it doesn't work.
I have camera tracking so i must render from this camera.
I will let you know when i finish
thanks

I opened this file in Maya 2008 and rendered with no errors. The smoke looks like cotton balls, but other than that...
