I'm trying to rig, as simply as I can, a stretching metal joint similar to the one in this image:

I did a test and pretty much got it working, except that I can't easily rotate it. Grouping everything almost works except for one annoying problem: any attibutes on the group (rotation, position, scaling) are DOUBLED for the geometry bound to the joint chain.
I'm positive it has something to do with the binding, and the same thing happens in different scenes. Rigid and smooth have the same problem, and I am stumped.

Can anyone help? I hope this is something obvious.

sounds like some double transform-issues.

When you group everything together, is your metal-joint mesh in the group, which you rotate, too?

If you take the mesh out of the hierachy, and only apply transform to the joints etc. I guess it will solve your problem?
