View Full Version : Character : Swamp Mage
Just getting into modeling my first character now at last, so thought id start my first WIP :)
I modeled the character in super sculpey last week off of a few sketches I had made under the title and description of 'Swamp Mage' for my college project, unforunately I didnt have time to finish the feet and head or add hands cause the armature started to buckle under the weight at the ankles.
C&C most welcomed :P

hey - what do you call the model - calista flockhart? HA HA HA! DAMN!
no im just kidding (in CASE you havent noticed it's bad intentionally)
i LOVE the sculpture - and the model seems to come along nicely :) what program do you use?
i would also very much like to see those sketches you spoke of :)
but that looks great :)
lol at calista flockhart
Im using Maya 4.5, modeling in polys for now and checking what it looks like as Sub'd then will add detail in sub d mode later.
Cant scan the sketches in right now unfortunately cause scanner is being a pain in the bum :)
Cheers btw :)

Ok I've spent the last few days fleshing out the limbs and have started adding detail as i work my way back up the body,
Nearly finished the feet now, i just need to rework the heels and ankles a bit before carrying on up the legs and body.
Would appreciate any crits anyone can give so far :)
Thanks

Lookin' good my friend... I can see some details that are lacking right now... but that's why it's a wip..
Look forward to more pics.
Thanks for the comments guys, spent the day on the legs, some areas might look a bit flat, but im happy with them for now and will probably alter them after ive finished modeling it via polys and have made a final sub'd conversion.
Here are some pics of the legs, I will be working the waist and rib cage area tonight.

Dude ... the leg detail is awesome :applause:
I would add a bit more detail to the feet -- more muscle structure, to make them match the legs. Maybe exhaggerate the tendons at the base of each toe a little bit (Not much, just a little)
Thanks for the update... It's coming along nicely.

thanks guys,
i will come back to the feet at some point and define them a bit more for sure, will add a muscle or two and so on ;P
just starting up on the rib cage and back area now, trying to make sure i get the muscle tones and bone structure right.
will post some images later tonight.
