Hey guys, trying to find a thread here. Search keeps crashing so maybe someone (even the author) can help.

It was a couple of years ago and the author was based in New Zealand. The thread was basically hard surface texturing of a yellow metal cube, covered diffuse, spec, scratches, etc. The thread was quite detailed and each part of the tutorial was quite a large image showing the steps (as opposed to regular text with screenshots).

I recall the author had a couple of finished pics here on CGtalk including a couple of industrial scenes with huge pipes and white ceramic tiles and another of a grungy street scene.

Hopefully that sparks some memories.

ETA: I actually emailed the OP at the time but I believe I have deleted my to/from messages from a few years back.

Cheers

Thanks guys.

I have had this problem before where CGTalk times out on searches if they are too general. Obviously "hard surface texture" was too general as this should have turned up

ETA: Ha! I was actually typing "Stefan Morel" (one L) into CGTalk search and Google when I was looking. So close, but so far! Can't believe I remembered his name.
