View Full Version : Selecting Isoparms
Kaiser_Sose 05-22-2003, 12:59 PM Is it normal when you select an ioparm and then the move tool parts of the geometry turns black like it looses the default lighting
It does not happen with the scale and rotate tool
Also, how can I make the move, scale, and rotate tool manipulators larger, they are real tiny

Definitely, funky shading going on there.
I can't say that its normal. I havent tried what you describe.
When you pick an isoparm, normally, you just drag it with the select tool that you picked it with. No need to go to another tool. Isoparms remain on and are constrained to the surface.(unless you detach it) It's sort of, click-drag.
However, what you display there does look suspicious.

All I know of is that since 4.5 things suddenly turn white when you pick things in your scene. Never seen it turn black though...
does it go back to normal when you deselect?

All our workstations have that problem. We haven't started with Maya 5 yet, so I don't know. I think it's Open GL-related.
We all run on nVidia cards so that might also have some importance.
