View Full Version : Photoshop CS3 is showing desaturated colors (Vista-business)
saiko 06-12-2008, 07:28 PM When I open any image in Photoshop CS3 it looks somewhat desaturated. When I open the same image in any other program (Corel Painter or Image viewer ) it looks more saturated. If I save any image from Photoshop, the same image looks more saturated in other program!
I am using Photoshop CS3 on Vista Business running on Dell XPS 1530 laptop.
I guess I might have something to do with the color setting, but can't figure out how to fix it.
Could anyone help?
edit: I know there is a sticky thread about similar issue, but it's not helping me. :(

In Photoshop, go to Edit -> Color Settings. Make sure your RGB profile matches your monintor's color profile.
To check your monitor's color profile, look under your video settings. I'm not sure how to get to that in Vista, but it should be somewhere under your display properties when you right click -> click properties on your desktotp.

@ Brocklesocks:
Thanks! I have tried different settings with both monitor and Photoshop...but have not checked if both are same. Will do that post the results here.
@TheNeverman:
I've gone through that thread several times before posting it here.
It's quite old and many things have changed now, Adobe Gamma is gone...

Yes there was a mismatch between the OS color profile and the Photoshop colour profile!
I have just removed the Vista color profile (back to default) and it seems much better now.
Thank you Brocklesocks! :)
