View Full Version : UBER PROBLEM! changing working unit setting has screwed fcurve data

I've a bit of a big problem here. I've modelled an exploding crate and it looks good but the problem is I've been told it needs to be meters and I've been working in centimeters.

I've converted the working units to metres which was ok. but the model is now tiny. I've grabbed all the objects and scaled them by 100 which puts them back to the correct size but now the fcurve data is all really tiny - the animation barely looks like its moving because its based on a different working unit setup!

How can I change the fcurve data to match my new working units in the same way I was simply able to scale up the objects?

I realise I can group them all and do it that way but is there another way to fix this?

cheers

try the following:

save the scene before (!) changing units as .ma.
open in text editor and in one of the upper lines change the units from cm to meter and save the scene..
after you open it, all should be the same but units are ok..

btw: NEVER change the units in maya.. stick to the cm settings as they are by default.. you will run into so many troubles if you touch units..
