I enjoyed the first movie, but... that just doesn't look like a Transformer to me.

Ah well, one for the next generation methinks ;)

That pic was designed for the first movie but didn't make it in. This should be really exciting. I loved the first one. Go ILM!

I actually enjoyed the movie though it was an obvious one. ILM delivered on the Robots whilst Bay delivered on the rock'n'roll action front.

Only thing I had a problem I had was that they should have used the right ending...

A transformer Ice cream truck named "Twins"??

As much as I disliked "Bayformers", I'm intrested to see how Devistator turns out. Hopefully it's not a super tall giant walking pile of junk.

I liked the first one. LEts see what the story is with this one. I don't quite like that transformer either. Probably pretty agile though.

Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen movie watchers who almost died from the bad writing and painfully directed fight scenes: wait for cable and watch in FW mode.

Golden Compass had a much better fight scene with the bears. No helicopter take offs and 360 camera spins.

Ugh, I am very unexcited about this.
And i just can't forgive whoever aproved the character designs, cause they are seriously some of the worst/most noisy/confusing Character designs for film i've ever seen.

Also where the hell have the wheels gone in that motor bike transform!?

I thought some of the character designs were good. Optimus, Blackout, Barricade, Bumblebee, jaz. Megatrons design I wasnt fond of and I would put this arcee character in the same bracket. I'm sorry if my opinion offends you but I think everyone has a right to speaking their mind, especially on here.

I don't mind the design but I pray to god they change the color of that transformer.

:D

My problem isn't so much with the colour. Its more with the thinness of the character. In some cartoon she was normally fleshed out and had a bit more of a female form to her more curves.

Nothing is certain now. Now that Bay co-owns Digital Domain there's a possibility the bulk of the work will go to them.

Well certainly Digital Domain will be heavily involved this time, but there have been many comments from ILM'ers that they have an awfull lot of work to do themselves on the new movie.

Maybe DD will handle the many new characters whilst ILM keep the established ones ?

Hope Scott Farrar is still supe.

I don't think it's an actual production piece from the new movie. Looks almost like a tweaked frenzy. Especially the legs... could be fan art or even michael bay puting out false information like he said he was going to. Not to mention she has a decepticon design. You can tell the bad guys are more jaggy and lack shape ( megatron ..ehem ). I didn't really like megatrons design, but i liked how he was portrayed in the film. Very ferocious.

Megan Fox?? Heaven.... :D

Never much been a fan of anorexick chicks with oompa-loompa looking fake tan...

And I just realised I've never tried to spell anorexick before...probably mis-spelled.

I saw the first movie twice, and it was far less painful the second time (especially that vomit-inducing lense flared 360-degree camera romantic moment). I was surprised by how funny Shia leBouf was. Probably will go see this.

the transformer movie's character design is sort of hybrid and visual forms fusion.
which a break away from any robot concept before i 'll think.
it is totally diferent from the anime/cartoon that we use to familiar with.
anime/cartoon is more blocky and vivid color.

Even though I'm in danger of getting my head chopped up. I hope they provide a better story and that they use the animations of the character to actually tell that story.:curious:

I mean the first one had great animations and everything but why the hell did they always jump around and behave like teenagers that are on drugs? Hope they are now out of the model and animation show off phase.

Sure. The formula should be changed completely this second time around. After all, the first one made only a little over 700 million dollars worldwide and that means a FLOP! *sarcasm*
Look, people want to see massive fights and destruction. The more the better (in general people's minds). I bet this one will be totally over the top and people will love it. That's what made the first one a blockbuster and help quite a bit to sell cheesy superhero movies to the masses. Buy some popcorn, sit there and enjoy the pyrotechnics. We know you will.

On a similar vein, how have the front and rear indicator lightsets managed to end up adjacent to one another and where are the exhausts at?

Roll on Transformers 2.

it is just a concept design only which mean not much relate to reality actual
transformation so do the rest of the character.
much to fiction concept.
most of the question like:
where is the engine part gone (in robot mode)?
do they take unlead or lead petrol?
do they go washroom to clean up after the battle?
where does the weapon come from tranformation?
how can they transform back if one of the part is crash/damage?
& etc...

all the question above does not work on movie concept design.
it is not easy to design a new whole transformer universe.

700 million is not an easy money we can hit.
imagine you were given a project which need to hit that figure...
michael bay did his job well for a new cartoon to movie project.
take a look of rest etc : speed racer

michael bay use a new/better way to shot the robot fighting scene instead of flat hand to hand combat just like the old skool 80's cartoon. which bring more impact and dramatic
to the scene.
just like bumbleebee case,
everyone was so frust and mad when the concept release was not volkswagon.
but after the movie everyone was so crazy about the new camaro.

Not every slim girl is anorexic or under weight. I mean, shes not really my type either, but be fair. She has a great, toned figure. Hardly anorexic.

And yes, you did mis spell it. LOL

On topic, i really hope that that is not going to be in the film. Terrible design...Awful.

UGLY. C'mon, if they can do an accurate albeit enhanced translation of the Iron Man suit SURELY, they can do the same thing for a Transformer.

Shattered Wreck FTL. For pretty much the same reasons as the other designs.

The modeling and animation of the Transformers was the only thing the Transformers film did that was redeemable. I have never seen CGI blended so seamlessly into a film. After that, I am not sure if it was the horrid editing, story, or Michael Bay's directing that killed the Transformers movie or all of the above. I have heard that the Transformers film cost around $150 million to make. As with all Hollywood films that fetch a budget of this caliber, creative freedom is kept to a minimal because there is so much money at stake. A film like this could literally cripple a studio. At that point, a film can become dependent on cheap thrills and juvenile behavior to bring in more money. So, the bad story and Michael Bay's poor directing aside, the Transformers was a product and nothing else. But even within those contexts, there could have been a better film than Bay's Transformers.

...but what was wrong with the first Transformers Movie? You know, the one we all went to see in the theater back in the 80's that totally rocked, with excellent animation and the most preposterously believable opponent, Unicron?

That movie has a storyline; it has charisma. It has ZAZZ.

http://cyberstore.decepticon-matrix.com/tf_universe_comic1_unicron.jpg

I guess my problem with the new movies are that they only barely follow the original plot, aside form all CG considerations. Sure, it's eye-candy. But how was any amount of eye candy more perilous or destructive than Unicron already was? It's not even close. Rewriting a "plot" to conform with new CG creations seems absurd, and when taken in perspective with the original movie, it's just plain lazy. Had they recreated the original movie with new-school animation, it would have been a much better movie.

I am so-so over a second movie. The first movie was flat out honestly shit. However it was still one of the most memorable cinema experience ever due to the amazing visual effects and action scenes. But my interest in seeing a second transformers is pretty low, the magic is pretty much gone, especially with a pink bike an ice cream van:D

Time will tell, will definatly go see it anyhow.
