View Full Version : mirroring polygon geometry and backface problem.
anthonymcgrath 05-22-2003, 10:23 AM I have a low poly shoulder pad that I want to mirror to the other side of the character. I freeze the transforms on the model, reset them, then duplicate and scale -1 in the x axis. I then freeze the transform on this, which flips the normals, do my reverse normals on the model and its now dissapeared (the visible side of the face is inside!) which is bloody useless!
is there another way to do this????? its hacking me off now :surprised

Actualy the scale in negative axis has caused the flipping of the normals.
You can undo this by selecting the incorrect faces and then going to EDIT POLYGONS > NORMALS > REVERCE
Or select the faces and go to EDIT POLYGONS > NORMALS > SET TO FACE
