Title: A sala lá de Casa
Name: Cleano Cavalcante Lócio
Country: Brazil
Software: 3ds max, mental ray, Photoshop
This is another image of the illumination studies series. This is actually my own living room, that's where the name come from, in portuguese it means "The living room of my House". I used FG single bounce + GI, Daylight and MR Sky Portal with Mr Photographic Exposure Control. I want to reach the best results in terms of illumination and materials, getting as close as possible of a photoreallistic image. I would like critiques so that I can enhance further images with the knowledge gathered in those comments.
Thanks.

I actually really really like this. The texturing and lighting is fantastic, the bump on that wall looks great. I like the contrast between the shadows and light coming through the window. Well done man. The only two crits I can see is that though the carpet looks a little bit unnatural, I think it would look better if there were actually less bends and creases. And finally, the background image looks like it's slanted on an angle, though I could be wrong.
Again, though, really well done.

Great picture you've got there :D . I like it a lot. Nice materials.
My only critique is that i think it's a bit too dark at the end of the room.
Keep up the good work!

I´d better say it in portuguese - but hey, this is an international forum! your image is great, nice light, soft shadows with increasing details on the floor and the best insite is the homy felling! congras!

Overall this image is fantastic...very realistic!
My two crits are the fact that the material on the far left couch cushion seems like the uv's are skewed...the other cushions dont seem like they have that problem
Also, The bump on the wall looks alright, but its obviously a standard dent map, right? Maybe mix it with a subtle fractal noise map? just to hide it a little?
Great job tho!

I want to thank you guys all for the c&c. I'll be posting some new versions of this images with the critiques implemented such as the noise map mixed with dent (it is dent by the way :D), some color and lighting correction and I'll certainly do my best to fix this stubborn carpet.
Once again, thankx for the c&c.
