I have some nCloth rigids that look like they stick to surfaces like glue particularly when it comes to the edge of an object, ie CDs that stand up on edge or move on their edge when dropped from above. Ive tried everything I know.

Jeremy,
Can you post some examples?

Shaun,

heres a low res playblast, you can see toward the end the CDs "sticking" together and standing on end at collision points.

Increase the collide width a little and also increase the substeps and collide iterations on the nucleus node.

Hi Duncan,

After using the concrete preset to get my rigidity values I didnt realise that the dampening was so high. Having dropped that down to more conservative levels, the sim now works as it should.

Unfortunately the damp values are relatively high in many of the presets. In many cases stretchDamp would work better. Damp will damp overall rotation in addition to shape change, which will make rigid cloth move in an unnatural fashion.

I've just got some mesh distortion problems with my nCloth now as indicated by the image attached. These are caused by collisions but Im wondering if its the rigidity setting I ought to increase here. Current setting for rigidity is 15 and deform resist 10. The rest are the concrete preset default, or could this be the compression resistance instead?

Cheers.

You might try increasing the substeps and collide iterations.

Thanks, that works a treat:wavey:
