Last night I tried to create normal maps following the Gnomon's video tutorial from word to word, object is a simple (stupid) cube with about 30-40 polys (quads only) imported from 3d studio max 9 as .OBJ to Zbrush 3.0 (with UVW coordinates ofcourse).
According to Gnomon the procudure is next:
1. Import .obj
2. Store morph target.
3. Subdivide and edit object (cube).
4. Call projection master (normal and displacement, or something, two lower buttons without collor ie. upper button - DROP & PICKUP)
5. Return to subdivision level 1.
6. Switch to morph target (original object).
7. Go to Normal maps, turn on Tangent & Adaptive, and finally hit the Create Normal maps buttom... BUT! NOTHING HAPPENDS! There is no cute little animation and there are no normal maps in Texture slot! Whats going on???? Am I so stupid, or something is not working as it should?
I have a feeling that my Projection master is not working at all, does it have some licence or something?

Offcourse the program is NOT working as it should!!! I tried zbrush 3.1 with Max 9 and everything works perfectly!

Do an UV check before using the plugin to see if your UVs are ok.

My UVW-s are PERFECT (it was only a stupid cube, not some character with 500 000 polys), simply combination of Zbrush 3.0 and max 9 doesn't work as it should!!

what he meant is the uv check in the multi displacement 3 tab. Some uv coords can be treated as they are beyond 0-1, which causes complications. If the check returns more than one uv set, you can try scaling down the uvs in maya/max to 99.99% to avoid that.
