I need to make an oval for a perspective drawing i'm doing but photoshop (6) seems to be lacking a tool to do so. I know about the whole elliptical marquee tool trick where you make a large oval and then deselect the insides with a smaller one, but it isn't working so great for my use. Its about 2 pixels wide and it looks pretty poor when I do it that way. MSPaint has the tool I'm looking for, but its a pain in the ass to trace it. Any suggestions? Thanks.

hello,

well there would be two ways basically, using the vector shape and using circle/oval marquee. I think the marquee one is easier.

so you just make a selection with the tool and go to edit>stroke
and put width and colour or whatever u need and hit ok.
it should make a nice circle/oval.

i hope that helped.

Oh god, I feel like an idiot. I had tried using the stroke from the layer styles to no avail. Thanks a bunch.
