Hi all

I am totally new at AE, but I have used Adobe's programs as long as I remember. I had to try the Puppet Tool but ran into a problem.

I'd like to animate a guy I designed, dancing to some music. I can't time it right unless I can move the Puppet Pins while the music plays.

It is possible to animate it in real time by holding CTRL (PC) down and dragging. But with a audio layer with RAM preview turned on, I get this error: "After Effects warning: A NULL interface pointer has been dereferenced."

Can anyone help me with this one?? :(

You can add audio markers where you would want a movement. Than just time it to the audio markers you created.

Preview the song by pressing the "." or period button on your num-pad. It will begin to play the song you have in your comp. Now while listening to it, press * on your num-pad on every beat or whenever you want to perform an action. That way you have visual cues of when there are beats. However, you cant animate it while playing the music.
