Hi All

I want to have persistent (always visible) Director's notes to the track view that identify scene numbers and descriptions of actions for myself and other animators to follow. I know about "Note tracks" but when in "Selected" mode in track view, they disappear when a different object is selected.

Does anyone have a technique they use or is there a little-documented feature in max that I have overlooked? Thanks in advance.

You could add a pop-up note to the .max file which tells your animators all the required info and lets them know there is a note track in track view. Pop-up notes appear in the file menu under some of the UIs, but not under others (for some reason). If it doesn't appear in your file menu you'll need to add it in customise.

Not great, but might be enough.

Thanks Iain

Thought of that and will fill one function. In Flash, I like to translate my dope sheet notes on a layer or track. My notes have dialogue breakdown and action/pose descriptions. These notes help me find specific points in the acting. On a slower computer this id crucial I find.

Thanks for the tip on the pop-ups.
