ok the shot i have is a guy (both Cg Doubles on a Cg-Set) punching another. The guy who´s punched flyies throught the window and falls to the deep infinite. What i want to do is to make the Window Photorealistic when breaking into pieces(i had a mesh bom modifier with a small fallout then when the guy flyes throught it it breaks the part when he touches 1st 1st and then i raise the Fallout value during the animation, for his arms & legs impact.) But i got a few problems:

1st - The Glass doesnt look realistic when breaking( i just made a Box with 50x50x50 Segments) I wanted a way to do it more realistic(smaller and more good looking instead of blocks of glass which looks very very ugly, even with motion blur)

2nd - a bit after he falls, the glass starts falling along with the character(altought not linked with him.) this seems to be due the gravity settings on the mesh bomb. But if i turn it of, the pieces of broken glass wont fall down so this is a problem as well.

3rd - I wanted particle interaction(altought not using the glass as particles) That interact with the guy falling, and with the Ground where the glass was sitting(falling and colliding with the ground&walls and if possible witch each pieces of glass as well)

All this the most realistic & good looking possible

I use 3DSMAX R5

Maybe some plugins, or Dynamics systems i dunno.

please help me making a good looking Window glass break 4 my movie

(Its a Very very Big window)

hey yo again! thats 1 hell of a project u have in hands.
I would try to use the max particle system (PArray) and pick your window as the emiter and the particle type as Object fragments, then is all a question of playing with number of chunks and give it only 1 frame in the particule generation menu.
as for the interaction with the character just make it a deflector and bind it to the PArray, do the same with the floor and the window frame, make sure you also bind the emiter with a gravity space warp.
you can check my Whoops! animation at the bottom, i did something similar with the phone box glass. the thickeness and material of the glass will also help to give it a more realistic look.

cheers
