View Full Version : Nothing

(http://assets.cgsociety.org/nvart/224812_1212998837/1024bound)It's a history about the evolution of the spirit. The first age is chaotic, with many details, very hard to read or understand (the first canvas with 2D draw). The second age is dominated by silence, a preparation for the final answer (the black canvas resembling an old painting detail). The last age is represented by a word defining the beauty of the illusion ... The nothing becomes real!
Hand drawing on a Wacom tablet / 3ds Max / Ps

you drew the picture in the background? un-****ing-believable. nice.

First step was a hand drawing of the chaligraphic word (ink on paper)
06-09-2008, 12:53 PM
2. Second step was the modeling of the word (spline converted to the poly)
06-09-2008, 01:09 PM
3. Third step was very funny and it took a long time (hand draw on the Wacom tablet...inspired by Durer, Walt Disney and some internet pictures)
06-09-2008, 01:12 PM
4. Final step...mix all the elements toghether and render it... Enjoy!

Very well done, I think that I wouldnt have noticed as much as I did if you didnt post all those great images showing how you made it. I think that you have done a really clean professional job and I love the render you did of the word 'Nothing' from the perp view looks like Ivory- Well done it all has a really good feel to it!

DragosJieanu > Thx man! You are so kind...
phoenix1 > Eh...it's not that sofisticated, just wanted to improve my drawing skills! Thx for encouragement!
Samione > hahaha... I hope that in the next day you will be fine...
jispro > Thx and good lock ...you made me curious and I can't wait to see your work!
Artisan-Hawks > In the beginning I was a bit confused if itís good to use ivory or wax... I chose ivory for a better reflection. I am glad that you liked this work!

Very understated work, until on close examination one realises how amazing it truly is. Loved the intricate workings and the detailing. Thanks also for sharing the making of the image. Very educative.

Awesome work vleonida! Like everyone else has already said, the amount of detail you've encorporated in this piece is absolutely amazing. Good luck in the competition :applause:

Great calligraphic skills, nice and funny composition. :) Well integrated Disney elements on the Durer graphic feeling.
Good luck !

This is the winner in my opinion! That is if nothing else comes in by June 19th that will trump it (very doubtful). The details are simply amazing, and fusion of 2D/3D elements really took place in this composition. Awesome work!

IN my opinion: sophisticated. I like your concept very much and how you present it. Inspiring.
