Hi:)
One more modeling test...
The mesh is an untextured high-resolution mesh which will later be used for 'extraction-of-details' by displacement-mapping. (the painted background is temporary)

that's alot of detail you've modeled! i can't imagine the headaches that thing caused! :wip:

either way, very nice attention to the little things.

Realy nice!!!

Sweet! However, the baby seems like a scaled version of the larger dino. Babies tend to have larger heads than bodies and fewer wrinkles (those come with age I believe). Just a minor point, the detail level more than cancels this out. Excellent work!

your useing normal mapping for details? great idea :D ONe question, how do u UV map then so that you don't loose details?? :S :O!

Thanks:beer:
Teyon: You are correct, it is the same 'posed' mesh:)
BitMAP: The mesh was created with ZSpheres therefore the UV coordinates have already been assigned by ZBrush (AUVTiles mapping).

I will post wireframes later today/tonight:)

Where did you get the refernce for the dinosaur i would like to do one of them, or do you you have any schratches?

Nice...so now the question is, can they be animated, or will they be too heavy to do so?

I presume you are going to Bake the mesh in order to use the displacement on a less dense polygonal object correct?

Amazing nonetheless. :)

Man zBrush can do some great stuff. Did you do all the detail in zBrush? I saw the app demo at Siggraph last year and it is very cool.

Nice Dino's.:)

For those who don't know Pixolator is the genius behind ZBrush, this is just another one of his outstanding examples and what ZBRush is capable of :)

hey great model pixo. i was wondering if you new any links explaining detail extraction a little more.

rizob: this will explain all you need to know about detail extraction.

now if zbrush were capable of extracting both a displacement map ( black->white ) and a normal map ( xyz=rgb ) internally,.. this would really kickass :D

Hey this is some of the nicest Zbrush I've seen yet, Seriously I've seen lots of stuff that doesn't impress me much, THIS however is just amazing! I know it prolly UV's normal when you do it, but I'm thinking as when you make the Normals map, what does your UV mapping sit on? is ur UV map made from the High poly and applyed to the Normalized mesh?

Cool. ZBrush! That's what I've been wanting to use it for on my own models (adding extra detail and stuff). Rhino's great for overall form but minute details in NURBs only will kill anyone's computer (especially a PII like mine!). Well, let's see a few more angles while you're working on the dinos.

Typical Pixolator....Great work.....I'm a diehard zhead since the most recent version, it's a great tool, only to get better. And for those who wonder if it can be animated, that is exactly where Pix is trying to move Zbrush, Low res meshes with High Res Image maps....Think real time games, doom etc...very cool stuff..

Thank you for your kind feedback:beer:

lildragon: You are too kind:) You guys are doing a fantastic job, CGTalk is an excellent resource to all CG artists.:applause:

I will post wireframes (low-res/high-res) images in my next post. Meanwhile, here is another image with a better view of the mesh-details...

Is the "baby" dino just a scaled down version of the large one? I think all of it's muscles and stuff wouldn't be as "cut" as they are, because it hasn't developed them yet.

Looking good, I love detail!

Huh, thats well sure a lot of work you did there ... unbelievable ... i ask myself how hard it must be to supervise such a modell. I already loose control with my simple scenes.

THAT'S SO GREAT!!!!!!!
Also cant believe with ZBrush can do such a good work!I will have a try later.
Why dont have any stars? 4 from me~
the only crits i think is the background and the texture of the dinosaurs. please go on working on it~:bounce:
