hi all,
by any chance, I going to ask for you guys opinion about my model so far.
i'm going to use it for my demo reel...
and might as well ask about maya software,
Is there any way to save my weighting if i want to fix the geometry? or if annyone can give me a really good tips or plug-ins or something realated to the weighting
I'll really appreciate it...
I got a really really big problem in weighting

Hi Deddy,

The head looks great, but I'm seeing polygonal edges on the body - a bit in the arm and more in the legs. I think your poly count is high enough that I shouldn't be seeing this, yes?

Maybe this is what you're talking about with the weighting problems you're having, but your joints are collapsing a little (or just bending oddly) as they bend. Look closely at where your joint pivots are in the wrist - something doesn't look quite right there. Maybe it might help a bit to focus more of the weighting to the appropriate skeleton joint, and share a little less with the connecting joint(s). For example: if the respective weight balance on a particular 'thigh' vertex is 70/30 (thigh/calf respectively), maybe you might get a more realistic bend with a ratio of 85/15.

The waist/abdomen area looks stiff also. The bend there should reflect the flexability of the spine and how the weight of the body would tend to bend/pull on it as it curves up from the hips.

The overall key factor here is observation. Look at pictures/video of people and how their joints look as they bend - heck, observe yourself in the mirror and see how your joints fold. When you can more clearly see what's happening as real joints bend, and imagine how that might be reproduced with polygonal objects, you should be able to better troubleshoot the weighting and polygonal structure of your own objects and get a clearer idea of what needs fixing, why it needs fixing, and how to fix it.

I haven't tried too much weight copying without the support of proprietery plugins written by the company I used to work for, so I'll have to try some things and get back to you on that part later.

Keep trying - see if you can get someone to pose for you so you can see better how the real thing looks. :wip:
