View Full Version : 3D possible in Blender?
Jimtuv 06-07-2008, 03:51 PM I was wondering if it is possible to make a 3D image in blender. I thought maybe if I render a scene twice with everything the same except the camera angle. and then adjust the colors in the compositor to match 3D glasses would I end up with a 3D image?

Thank you Felix, I didn't want to wast time if someone knew it would not work. I think I will play around and see what I can come up with. I will post my results here later.

Thank you for the link. I am checking it out. Stereo images look pretty easy to make.

Awesome link I am sure going to give the script a try. I downloaded both the pdf and script and will read it over this week. Thank you very much!

Here is a test I did with the stereo script. Of course you need red and blue stereo glasses.

I remember @ndy did a stereo animation of a fluid sim... I'll have to see if I can find it...
But it wasnt done in blue and red, it was one where you had to move towards the screen and look 'through' the screen to make it line up...
I'll see if I can find it.

I would love to see it. Do you know how he made it? did he use a script?

I made some anaglyph test-animations with blender. I rendered scene twice with different camera positions and then merged them in small app I made in LabVIEW.

For better quality download the hi-res version.

That's pretty cool Unholy-Effendi! How long did that all take? I haven't programed anything in so long I don't remember how to.
