I basically want to have q,w,e,r and alt to work the same in c4d as they do in maya. (thats not too much to ask, I don't think)

q-cursor
w-move
e-rotate
r-scale

alt+LMB - rotate perspective
alt+MMB - move perspective
alt+RMB - zoom perspective

I tried binding the keys in command but it won't let me bind alt. And a lot of functions weren't listed that I could bind. Maybe I'm missing something, so someone please help me out.

Thank you

you can set q,w,e,r etc, fine form teh command manager in cinema, but unfortunately not the mouse navigation (the command manager refuses to see the difference between the lmb, mmb, and rmb... you can of course remap 1,2 and 3 to whatever other keys you want to use instead, maybe z,x,c  ).
