View Full Version : image map size
alienesque 05-21-2003, 05:48 PM hi...:)
how do you make sure that an image map keeps its original proportions..ie..the exact propotions of the bitmap..when i import an image..it always makes it square..then i have to resize it by eye..this cant be the way:)
thanks a lot in advance:p

well if you load it into any channel of an empty material you can see its exact proportions which should help you resize your object or whatever you are projecting it onto to get the right size.
however if you are talking about using configure in the view windows edit thing you are always gonna get the images set to the defalut of 800-600.
just rememeber your images size and you should be fine.

I belive what you want is in the object manger in the textue menu > fit to image. This then opens a menu to find your original image texture and fits the map on the object to it's proportions. Make sure the material that is assigned is set to something other then the default uvw or you wont be able to select fit to image. HTH
