Hi guys, I'm new here.
I missed out on the last challenge, and seeing as everyone's doing characters I thought I'd model a VW Beetle from scratch for
this challenge.

Here is an incomplete model of the main body work, it still needs a lot of detail, which I will be adding via bump maps(seeing as this is a texturing challenge). Also, because cars dont require such sophisticated textures(compared to characters), I will be focusing a lot on rendering and lighting later on.

Hey there :)
Are you aware that you don't have to build an entirely new model from scratch for this challenge?
I would suggest that you texture a model you already have that needs texturing to save yourself some time, because you still have a long way to go on that model :(
Not that I think there is anything wrong with your model so far, or your concept, it's just that the clock is ticking........

Leigh: you're probably right, but what the heck. Besides, I've been wanting to model a car for while now.

Here's a little update, I will try to update more frequently, but my PC goes a little AWOL every other time I try to connect to the Net. It's like playing russian roulette.

It still needs some fine tuning, I will add all the panelling detail and cut out the windows with bumps and opacities.

thanx for the comments feanor:)
yeah, you're right I should model the glass and doors, Which I normally would, but using bumps instead is quicker and easier for lazy lazy people like me:p
Anyway, my excuse is that this is a texturing challenge, so it would be more appropriet to use bumps.
