Hey all, I have begun studying muscle systems, and I've run into some interesting problems. Please note that I am NOT using Maya Muscle, I'm using the old method of creating muscles as discussed in Art of Rigging Vol. 2 .

Here's what's happening:

I'm creating the nurbs lofts as the muscles, and I'm adding those as influence objects to my skin. I then have to go into the skinCluster1 node on the mesh and turn on "Use Components". As I'm doing this, I notice that I can't see the textures on my mesh anymore, and when I render out the image I get an almost alpha-looking image... weird.

Anybody know what's going on here or how to fix it? I have to turn "Use Components" on in order to have the muscles affect the skin. Maybe I can bake out the skin weights and it won't be a problem any more?
