I don't think so..
Why do you need to do that?:banghead:
maybe we could find a solution otherwise........

Samir's (Designer) plugin "Spline Boole" was available for R7 only. If you use R7 he may still sell it to you.
For those who would rather not set up there spline boolses in Illustrator, this would be the tool to use.
You can contact him here:

I need a spline boole because I like to use NURBS (mostly Loft) rather than box modelling. Without making them 1 object it can get really messy trying to make a complex thing, like a hand.

I guess there aren't really any ways to do it in version 8?

No.
But do you have Illustrator or freehand? I prefer to do a lot of my spline drawing in another app (a lot of people work like this--much better control and tools in Illustrator

I've tried Illustrator, however I'm having a bit of a problem with it, in my Electrode thread, if you see the logo, I did that in Illustrator.
The problem is, I don't know how to make it one object. I have it under 1 layer, and then all the seperate pathes. so when I brought in c4d, they were all seperate. I just did an extrude and then sed boolean then. It would have been a lot easier to work with if actually one object.

You can also use Xara X, is really a great app and is quite cheap. IMHO one of the most intuitive vectorial app. Few powerful tools and a very fast interface. I'm quite sure it functions perfectly with Cinema.

You can change how cinema uses the paths imported from illustrator (or freehand) under preferences: import/export: illustrator import.
Alternatively, you can just select the splines and connect them.
