Previs has come such a long way... that was so close to the final shots.

That was some nice work. It seems like you guys had to have gone through a lot of revisions to get the previs so close to the final shots. Was that the case, or were the clients satisfied with the work early on?

That's some really cool stuff, you never really see previz stuff online, but this is awesome.

Great work, guys!

Previz artists are the unsung heroes of the film industry. But in the end, they may have the most creativity of all the jobs. Incredible work!

This is fabulous! I mean it seems so useful when the pre-visualisation is really what you base yourself on. Watching this video also makes me realize I am missing this movie, can't wait for DVD release.

That was very interesting to watch how similar it was. Sure wish there was more previz around that we could see.

How can the pre vis contain filmed footage from the principal photography?

I would have thought that the shots would have had to have the majority of the structure already planned out way before filming.

It does say Previs/Postvis above the clip.... ;)

The post vis, is the clip at the bottom, which is the final footage. The pre vis still contains principal photography. ;)

Postviz is NOT final footage.
Previz is digital work done before shooting to help with shooting, postviz is done after shooting (and sometimes inbetween) to help nail down the vfx work before spiraling down into iterating expensive finalized look contents.

It's normal, although not terribly common yet, these days to go through shots with beefed up previs assets and produce a sequence framework before you start the actual shot post on that sequence.

BTW good job Raffael... as usual :)
